New Music Friday – March 11, 2022

I am sending this NMF report out from chilly Chicago today. Thankfully we’ve got plenty of hot new albums and tracks to keep you warm no matter where you are this weekend!

We’ve been spinning a number of Young Guv‘s latest singles the last couple months, so happy to have their latest full length here to give us the bigger picture. The same goes for indie band Glacier Veins, who have a knack for mature, emo-tinged indie rock. If you read our review of the album from yesterday, you’ll know we really dug the new collaboration from Yelawolf and Shooter Jennings. And finally the bedroom pop all-star Rex Orange County is back with his latest LP.

It’s been a long while since we’ve gotten new original songs from our first-ever Bad Ass Break-Out artist Lee Bains + The Glory Fires, but they are finally making a grand return this year and have the first song from that album for us today. If you’ve been a follower of our site, you know I loved Mod Sun‘s last album, so I’m excited to blast his new single out today. The same goes for the new one from The Americans, who we interviewed way back in 2017 on the heels of their last album coming out.

John Doe (of legendary punks X) has a new solo track out (and album on the way), and we’ve got the second singles from Florence + The Machine‘s next album Dance Fever. The Black Keys are serving up another blues rocker from their next album, and G Flip, one of our favorite exports from Australia, has shipped us another new song. Some other familiar names coming in with new tunes this week are Foy Vance, Bakers Eddy, U.S. Highball, Kevin Devine, Jukebox the Ghost and Yungblud!

We’re giving first-time spins this week to Koyo, Isla Rose, Udoka Malachi, I Am Snow Angel, Glasslands, Maxim Mental, Chris Cheney, Mickelson and Sunnbrella!

As always, you can easily dive into all these new tunes plus many more in our New Music Friday Playlist on Spotify or Apple Music!
