New Music Friday – April 15, 2022

Halfway through April, and it’s Coachella weekend, so while many of you will be seeing live music this weekend, for those who still want some playlists for the week ahead, we have the best new releases for you to hear.

Cursive-frontman Tim Kasher‘s new solo album is here, and features a number of notable guests. Guitar noodler Kurt Vile‘s and folk artist Joey Harkum‘s new ones will be perfect for laying back on the sunny weekend ahead, while the new ones from Eugenius and A Wilhelm Scream will get you right up and ready to fight the world.

In new songs, we’re super stoked for the latest single from one of our favorite modern ska acts, The Interrupters. It’s also great to have a new ones from Drive-By Truckers and American Aquarium, both of whom are always reliable. Built to Spill are coming back after a long break with a new track, while Magnolia Park and Belle & Sebastian haven’t been slowing down a minute with new releases, and we’re getting new tracks from both.

Phoebe Bridgers is back with her first new song since her Grammy-nominated sophomore LP. Also making a triumphant return are The Walters, having reformed since their TikTok breakthrough success. Gavin DeGraw has a new single from his upcoming album, and if you like that one, you’ll also enjoy the new ones from Mt. Joy and Caamp.

Returning to the list this week are Aubrey Haddard, Bruce Lee Band, Goodnight Sunrise, Mattstagraham, Motor Sister and Beth // James. Making their first appearances in our NMF playlist this week are Baby O, Dear Rouge, Dear Seattle, Making Movies, Chief State, Kitteh x Kitteh, Parker Twomey, N.O.A.H. and Ella Ruby.
