Artist: Good Kid
Track: “No Time to Explain”
Genre: Pop Punk, J-Rock, Indie Rock
Since launching in 2015, Good Kid has found great success. The group creates adrenalized, catchy and sharp punkish rock songs with an aesthetic and narrative-style storytelling inspired by anime and video games. While the band members work in the tech field in their day jobs, the rising popularity of the group, who have been selling out shows around the country, hints that they may need to soon quit their day jobs.
The group’s latest single “No Time to Explain” rockets out the door with Strokes-esque riffs and mile-a-minute hooks. In the bleak world we live in, the band responds with hopeful lyrics (“I don’t like change but I’m not afraid…I think we’ll be okay that way”) and exuberant energy to brighten the mood of anyone having a bad day.
If you’re in Los Angeles, you can see the band live on Sept 17th at Lodge Room. If you cant make it, you should still check out this latest jam in our Check This 2022 Playlist on Spotify or Apple Music.
