New Music Friday: April 21, 2023

Hope all of you who went last week survived Coachella. For those of you about to embark, good luck. Here are some tunes you can groove to on your drive out or in between sets.

Incredible instrumental duo Rodrigo Y Gabriela have always been festival favorites, and their enviable musicianship continues to impress on their new album. We also have the new full length from latest Check This artist Lael Neale.

The Foo Fighters are back with their first new song since the loss of Taylor Hawkins, and have announced a new album to drop on June 2nd. Also landing a new LP on that date, punk rock gods Rancid, who have returned with a brand-spankin’ new jam as well. Maybe Tim Armstrong will have his new group Doom Regulator open for some upcoming Rancid shows? Indie pop darlings Muna are back with a new bop, and Devon Kay & the Solutions continue their journey into ska with their latest track.

Extreme have released two new songs that fit their namesake, and if you want some more heavy music, Staind have returned after a 12 year absence with a heavy new one. Killer Mike‘s latest single is a soulful banger, and Noel Gallagher is flying with his High Flying Birds on his new jam. Touring juggernaut Dave Matthews Band doesn’t need to release new music to sell out amphitheaters across America, but they still do and we have their new single for you. Ben Howard‘s brand of indie alternative music is always captivating, and his new song is no different.

Other acts releasing quality singles again this week are Crush, Amanda Stewart, Against the Current, The Used, Sundressed, Julian Loida, Versus the World, AJR, Arlo Parks, Gus Dapperton and Joy Oladokun. So who will you be hearing on the list for the first time this week?
