One of the more exciting rappers on the rise, IDK recently released his mixtape e.t.d.s, which features the frenetic and powerful track “C.O.P.” The rapper/singer also known as Jason Mills lets loose on the broken criminal justice system in track, with a rapid-fire flow. For such a biting commentary, the video had a lot to live up to. Thankfully, IDK turned to famed comedian and satirist Eric André to direct. The results are as outrageous and visceral as you might imagine.
Mixing live footage with animation parodying the popular Grand Theft Auto series, as well as some A.I. enhanced scenes, “C.O.P.” goes straight for the jugular as it indicts the police and legal system. Cops with big and teddy bear heads wage gun battles in the street with IDK and his militia of armed women. Zombie judges hunt IDK down, and politicians celebrate with maniacal laughter.
The video is not subtle in its views of the corruption and cruelty of those who are supposed to serve and protect, and between André’s vivid visuals and Mills’ dynamic songwriting, this is a video that will stick with you. Watch the video above, and stream the track here.
