If you are looking for a vibe for “spooky season,” this is it! This song found it’s way onto my Discover Weekly playlist on Spotify, and I’m glad it did. From the moment the song starts I feel like I’ve been transported into a Quentin Tarantino universe-style Halloween party.
This isn’t the first time that Jeremy Messersmith has graced my playlists, but this song has a different sound than many of the others I’ve become familiar with. Most of the other songs I’ve heard feel more folk-like, but “666” goes into the territory of psychedelic rock/southern gothic with some lovely dirty guitar work. I love it.
