Did you have a nice April? Minus a cold, mine wasn’t too shabby. Feels like it’s going to end well too. One reason is that today we’re getting new albums from some artists who always deliver. First is The National, who have brought along Phoebe Bridgers and Taylor Swift for the ride that is their new album. Next, Dave Hause continues to show off his amazing songwriting on his new effort, and if you had any doubts about Josh Ritter‘s lyrical skills, his new album will put those concerns to rest. I’ve been a fan of Joy Oladokun since discovering her song “Memphis” and am stoked to see where she goes with her latest effort. And then power-popper (and Tom Petty enthusiast) Ryan Hamilton‘s new album is finally here. He went through a lot of hell with shipping errors, leaks and other nonsense with this album, so be sure to give it a listen and show your support.
The first single from our Most Anticipated Album of 2023 is finally here, and I couldn’t be more excited. That’s right – The Gaslight Anthem are finally back! We’re also getting two new tracks from alt rockers Deer Tick, and after a very long time, folk songwriter M. Ward moseys back with a new song. Finger Eleven are rocking again with a new heavy hitter,
PJ Harvey is one of those artists’ artists – respected by her piers and critics all over – and she has her first new single out in a good long while. Kesha has also been quiet for a moment, but today she’s dropping two songs from her upcoming Rick Rubin-produced album. Other artists returning with new tunes this week are The Oxymorrons, Arts Fishing Club, Hunny, Des Rocs, Superlove, The Antlers, Ron Pope, The Dollyrots, Joseph, The Damned, Dylan James and a real beauty from Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit.
New artists getting the spotlight in our playlist this week include Polyglam, Jonah Kagen, Homes at Night, Olive Louise, Waldemar, Donovan Keith, Delair the Liar, Alexander Wren, GracieHorse, GHÖSH and Kind Beast.
Listen to all of these tunes and more in our New Music Friday Playlist on Spotify or Apple Music!
