New Music Friday: August 19, 2022

The amount of music that came out last week was crazy. After posting our NMF list for the week, I discovered there were also new albums by artists like Jimmy Cliff, Collective Soul and Tim Barry that had also released that day. Check those out if you haven’t!

Of course, there’s plenty more new music out today that has to cross out ears too! The first being the newest from The Mountain Goats, which based on the singles, may be there hardest-rocking album yet. Panic! at the Disco are showing some 70’s rock influences on their new one, while still maintaining their big, spectacle pop sound. Rare Americans are keeping productive with another new collection of tracks, and Spielbergs are back with their brand of melodic, unpolished rock.

Our most anticipated album of 2022 was the new Red Hot Chili Peppers. And now we’ve recently learned we are getting a second album from the band, with the first single from that one out today! Big CA energy! UK rockers The Struts are back with their latest single, and we have a new one from Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. Magnolia Park and Mod Sun keep dropping pop punk bangers, and if you want some tunes in the more artistic/emo world, try the latest from No Devotion.

Former Check This artist Me Like Bees are back with a new alternative track, and famed rocker/producer Todd Rundgren has dropped the first single from his new collaborations album. Joining him is another rock legend, Billy Idol, who is back with a great new one. No Cover winners The Native Howl have their first new music since signing to Sumerian Records, and we also got returns from Career Woman, San Roman, The Wombats, Dave Haus, Samantha Franks, Bryce Vine, SEB, Cartel, Futuristic, Trevor Hall (With Gone, Gone Beyond), Kitteh x Kitteh, Dear Seattle and Venerea.

Artists getting their first adds to our NMF playlist this week are Anna Moon, Melin Melyn, Rose’s Pawn Shop, Michael B. Thomas, Izzy Oram Brown, Kuri, Alex Mason, Soraia, Ne’er-Do-Well, lotusbliss and Maryanna Devlin.

Find all of this music and more in our New Music Friday Playlist on Spotify or Apple Music!
